Some rather cute drawings...

Most Sundays after the 9am Mass at St. John's we have coffee (very kindly made by Anna Smith and her team) in the parish hall. Quite a few folk pile through for their weekly cup of hot brown, biscuit and chat with their fellow Catholics and, to be honest, it's normally always the same bunch. And again most weeks as I sit there nattering away this little blonde 5 year-old girl named Lucy appears and asks if she can play a game on my iPhone. She's the youngest daughter of a friend of mine (and ever so cute, went round to babysit yesterday and she was showing me how well she had learned her two times tables) and, since she's very careful, the answer is pretty certain to be a "yes." Now being the sad and overly enthusiastic convert that I am there are lots and lots of prayers apps (like the iBreviary, the iMissal, the iRosary, the Confession and Mea Culpa apps, iDom Reader, Brevarium Meum and so on) very few games on my phone, but there is one which Lucy particularly likes called Doodle Buddy. Each week she draws all sorts pictures but her real specialty is pictures of our clergy. A few months ago she did this one of Fr. Terry...

To be honest neither he or I could quite see
the resemblance, when she went over to show
him he commented "Oh! That's a lovely frog Lucy!"

Then this one of Fr. Peter...

For some reason she insisted on drawing
poor old Fr. Peter wearing lipstick...which she
found hilariously funny

And then this morning Fr. Richard...

Originally he only had three hairs until I insisted he
definitely had more than that!!
Not bad for a little girl on an iPhone eh? And all three priests seemed quite pleased with the outcome (well, maybe not Fr. T so much...). And this is her self portrait, also from this morning...

She captured the bow in her hair rather well
I think
Funny the things you get up to after Sunday Mass!
