This pretty much sums up how I feel this morning...

O God, you are my God, for you I long;
for you my soul is thirsting.
My body pines for you
like a dry, weary land without water.
So I gaze on you in the sanctuary
to see your strength and your glory.

For your love is better than life,
my lips will speak your praise.
So I will bless you all my life,
in your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul shall be filled as with a banquet,
my mouth shall praise you with joy.

On my bed I remember you.
On you I muse through the night
for you have been my help;
in the shadow of your wings I rejoice.
My soul clings to you;
your right hand holds me fast.

Psalm 63: 2-9

  1. Wow, yes indeed, thanks for sharing.

    Another Psalm that makes me feel that way is 27 (v4): "One thing I ask of Yahweh, one thing I seek; to dwell in Yahweh's house all the days of my life..."

    It always makes me want to set up camp in the church near the altar and live there 24 hours a day with my life centered around the church liturgies (don't worry Fr T if you're reading this, I don't think Edek will let me!!).

    But it's that same sense of centering and consecrating one's whole self and life to God. I guess for me, being called to live in the world and all that, it means endeavouring to make my heart and my home into houses of Yahweh.

    As for you, K, well, I won't mention wimples as we both know someone else who likes to bring that topic up with you...!!! Hope you're having a happy Christmas.
